Went to a FANTASTIC craft fair in Harrogate on Sunday...stood at the entrance and went Oooooooohhhh in excitement...I must have looked a right old saddo...I'm not bothered...
Row and stall after stall of things that are a must...restrained myself quite a lot - here are some of the items - but forgot to take a pic of all the wonderful papers I got - that i said I wouldn't - then on the way out...I did!!!!!! and realised when I got home I had bought 2 butterfly punches...well to be fair one is a x cut and the other a MS and they are different butterlys....
Did a close up of one of two things...loved these templates, and on the Sunday I got them for £1.00 each....will make a great New home card, 21st....though I wanted the key for an 18th - but apparently according to hubby Key is for 21 only as the song goes - Key to the door - never been 21 before....
And then everyone was buying these - bought them so I did not feel left out - not really sure what to use them for - but put them on one card and honestly - just look like brads - but do not weigh so much for posting and also can be coloured in with Copics!....though suggestions please..
A few embellishments - wish I got more of these - love them...
And these....not seen these before "doodle dewdrops"- lady on the stand had a template in fancy shapes that she dotted glue through and stuck one of these down - nice man next to me said don't bother with a template - make your own...so will do...need to use clear glue on these so they don't show through - if you do not have any - use glossy accent - works just as good!..
All in all a fab day...Christine from cards by Christine said she would be there - but she went on the Sat - I went on the Sunday...Was anyone else there?...Next year we all need to wear a carnation like Del Boy from "Only Fools and Horses"!...only joking...
Thanks for popping by - will do some pooping by tonight after work..
Sarah

Wow, you did do well!
ReplyDeleteYou got a lot of new things to play with. I've seen WOYWWers using card candy, but have never seen it in the states. When I saw the house, key, dog, etc., I thought they were masks and you could paint or use ink around them. Didn't realize they were embellishments. happy WOYWW.
ReplyDeleteYou would be surprised what you will find to do with those candy things in the end. They fit perfectly over the holes in the Bird Cage Die!

ReplyDeleteHiya *waves* Card Candy is brill - ever finished a card, and thought, damn, wish I'd put a brad there, but can't know cos the back will show? Well, with Card Candy that's not a problem! I love mine - don't use them often, but they've got me out of a fix before now. Prime example here: http://coupdemaincrafts.blogspot.com/2009/07/lionman-and-tiger-card.html

ReplyDeleteI was there on Sunday too! It was great wasn't it? I even did Julie Hickey's workshop in the morning and made a couple of fab cards.
ReplyDeleteI love that MS butterfly punch. I bought a cupcake border punch which I totally love - if you get chance to check out my desk (link number 35), you'll see a card I made with it.
The card candy is ace - use it for flower centres, or just adding a little row of them onto a card. Checkout http://www.craftworkcards.co.uk/product_list.aspx?cat1=8 for ideas on how to use it

Great load of new stash Sarah.
ReplyDeleteI didn't go to Harrogate, I was thinking of going to Birmingham NEC in November, but I also want to go to the Cat Show which is the following week - not sure which will win yet, but I afraid to say that the Cat Show sounds good at the moment. I've never been before and I'd love the see all those beautiful pussy cats. I want a Maine Coon but Simon isn't too keen, I'm sure if he sees one in the fur he will be won over!!!
You made me chuckle with your comment on my blog - the Chipendale's - as if, they'd run a mile LOL!!!

Yup that kid in a sweet shop feeling, I bet u weren't the only person who did it! Tell your husband to be quiet, I had a key for my 18th & my 21st (one of those ornate plasticky things from the card shop) and if u sing "ne-ver beeen eight-een before" , u can fit into into the tune so there!
ReplyDeleteNext year you should wear WOYWW badges!! Love all your new stash, those templates are nice. I don't buy them with occasions in mind like you have, I just buy coz I like 'em!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, lots of lovely goodies. Bet you had a fab time. Thanks for sharing.
