Calla Lily Cake

Its Fabby Friday...Yaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Oh How I live for my time off....
Just come back from the gym and thought would post another cake.

This  time it has Calla Lily's on...as always - made out of icing...and AGAIN I apologise for the poor pictures...what I need to do is stop taking them on a night and only take them in day light hrs - maybe when not so tied also...

Flash here shows Lily's...but not brilliant...

 

Need to post some cards - will do promise...but weekend set to be nice, so think will be out gardening and enjoying the time....

Pole dancer birthday cake

Why does work get in the way of blogging...cake making and card making...would much prefer to do this all day....guess answer is bills!

Anyway....thought I would show you this new cake of a pole dancer. My friends daughter was 21 and I was asked to do a cake for her of her pole dancing...fruit on the bottom cake - sponge on the top

 

I so need to go to night school for camera lessons now - sorry for the poor pictures

 Made some makeup out of icing and a phone

And of course a pole dancer...how an earth they stay up there is beyond me...actually how they get up there in the first place is beyond me!

 

 

Made another cake which I will show soon - promise...if you want to see my previous cakes just click on the cake label on the left of the posting and it will show you them all, and go through them...I have so many that I still have not posted yet...soon...promise

Emilys 18th birthday cake

And this was Emily's 18th cake I made for New Years Eve...Can't believe she is 18!!!! So this is her cake - flowers and butterfly's as always made out of icing...

She wanted daisy's on her cake and butterfly's...her wish is my command.....

Did not do a cake posting so here goes...

I made these out of icing...made this display before - love it - very traditional - with the xmas roses and berries - but I love it...

Hubby is 50 and also retires from his present job - but be under no illusions - he will be getting another job as there is no way I am working and not him!!
Married 25 yrs
Take That on tour again...
and then off to New York for our 25th Anniv pres (though going middle Dec as I must see all the deccies etc)...........sssssssssssssooooooooooooooooooooooooo can't wait for that

Diamond Anniversary Cake

Evening.....sorry I am getting boring posting cakes - will try and post some cards soon - promise
- Made this Diamond Anniversary card for this old man in my village that I sometimes go dog walking with - he sits at his window most mornings I am sure waiting for me...its lovely really - 84yrs young and celebrated 60 yrs of marriage - 60 YEARS!!!!!!!!...blimey - deserves a medal not a cake!

So I just made him a little fruit cake and decorated it with some roses and little diamonds - he filled up and was so made up...made it all worth while really.....

Just a spray of icing roses and some ivy leaves put together...

 

Enjoy the evening - Em off to Leeds Festival on Wed - why oh why would you - a festival in a muddy field with millions of smelly muddy people - shared smelly toilets...its bad enough doing her washing when she comes back never mind anything else....My dad is picking her up on Friday to take back to good old Grandma and Granddad's for a shower and bacons and sausage sandwich.....

50th flower cake

Happy Sunday - raining like mad here today - but thankfully Archie and I went our walk earlier - went blackberry picking down the lanes near me - so blackberry and apple crumble for tea it is!.

Had a nice weekend - Sat - Gym in the morning - and then in the afternoon went dog walking with some friends over to Harrogate around the back of the show ground - great place to let yr dog off to run for miles - though Archie was not on his best behaviour....but soon forgotten as I love him so much...

Showing today a cake made for a 50th wedding Anniversary...Icing flowers I made here if you are unable to tell are Roses, Carnations, Freshia's and Stephanotis. Love making icing flowers - but they take sooooooooo long....

 

Mother in law here for tea - so need to vac and get sorted...food all prepared for my Sunday roast - chicken this week -sooooooo love a Sunday roast....

pearl anniversary cake

Me again - 2 posts in a week - unheard of I know - well at the moment it is...
Sorry another cake - will do some cards soon - promise..
Made this for a peal wedding anniversary for a lady at works parents....Love making icing roses - think they are my fave flower to make...............

Close up of the roses - make in petal paste so you can get a fine petal - rather than thick sugar paste ones

Then added pearls to the side and made a pattern going round

Simple design - but I think effective - Do you?

Hope you have a cracking weekend...and the sun shines...off to the Dog and Gun tomorrow night at Knayton - near Northallerton - ever up that way I cannot recommend it enough - fantastic!...

Norland Nanny 18th Cake

Hello - long time no post - sorry -still here....been busy with work and cakes of which I will post - promise....

EM PASSED HER DRIVING TEST!!! except talk about planning who is having my car!!!...as I keep pointing out to my girls...its MY car!!!...think they have selective hearing though......

Cake showing today is for one of my best friends daughter...she was 18 and has been accepted to become a Norland Nanny...not heard of them..google it...to be a Norland Nanny is the best of the best  - tend to be to the rich and famous...so lets hope she graduates...so made her a cake which is unique to her...

Shoes on - as Izzy LOVES her shoes....All out of icing I may add before you ask...

 A Norland Nanny....a pushchair with baby..and a iphone....as it is permanently attached to Izz!

 



Oh and then did pink leopard print icing on the top...and a chocolate cake under.....

Cricket Bat cake

Happy Sunday - well it would be if it was not raining!!!!...very dismal.....
Have my parents over for dinner so just doing a nice Sunday roast...can't beat it...
Roast pork.
Apple sauce.
Roast potatoes.
Yorkshire puddings.
Sausages wrapped in bacon.
Swede and carrot.
Broccoli.
Stuffing balls
Followed by steamed treacle sponge and custard!....good job I have been good and going to the gym!


Made this for one of my best friends boys 18th.....its a cricket bat if you are not sure!

Me done for cakes for a while - Next will be Rebecca's 20th at end of Feb...got to think about that one..

 

Em going out driving in the moment...next month will get her on the open road...help...

21st Birthday Cake

Hi there - hope you have had a fantastic weekend......

Did ball stability class again - and you will be pleased to know - I did not fall off........I also have done a "fat burn" class - blimey now that was tough - we had weights and it got to one point I did not have the strength to push the bar up over my head to put it down and nearly called for help......Don't be fooled though by all this gym sessions...problem is I am eating 10 times as much so it is doing no good what so ever in relation to weight loss - need to try harder...but loving it - so that's the main thing...

Made this cake for a ladies daughter at work....did wonder when she asked for red/while and black flowers on it - but love the finished look.

Back to work tomorrow - think weather is on the change for snow next week...will have to see

Car birthday cake

Afternoon....

First post of 2014 - so Happy New Year....

Had a break for Xmas - nice as always lots to do.....

Had Bex home for Xmas - though just taken her back to Uni - though she is coming home every 3 weeks so that's nice - though can my fridge hold up to it and my biscuits???...

Made this cake for a friend at work she wanted a car cake for her husbands birthday - first car cake - its ok - but so out of my comfort zone....

Just sponge inside - she assured me it tasted nice - always a worry as you never know.

 

Emily was 17 on New Years Eve...time flys - so doing this post while she has gone out for her first drive.....in my car!......mission to get her passed this year...but soooo expensive - even the provisional licence these days is £50...then lessons...then the theory test...and then the test.....bank of Mum and Dad is very thin on the ground at the moment...

 

Had a lovely Xmas - even joined a gym...went to a stability ball class!!...you know one of these balls that you sit on and apparently work your "core"...well fell off the damn thing - may I add in spectacular style...bruised one elbow and bled on the other...really hurt...did I cry?...inside...but not on the outside..anyway - my mates now want me to do a class on Tues and Friday this week....doing it on the mat this time!!!!

Birthday cake

Happy Sunday everyone......
Well I have had a nice chilled out weekend....
Went dog walking yesterday over to Harrogate with a friend from work - really really nice - beautiful day - and of course - as you do...end up at a little pub for a nibble...had beer battered fish - wow oh wow was it nice......and then of course walked it off - so it does not count!.....

As promised made this cake for my friends 40th the other weekend...hubby made the sponge and I did the icing - as usually prefer to do fruit cakes - but turned out ok - phew!....

 I was just asked to make a bunch of flowers on the top - so did roses, sweet peas and lily of the valley....and ivy leaves - all out of icing - thought it looked very feminine and girlie...

 Then on the bottom just added a sprig of lily of the valley and ivy.

Hope you like it - she did.

Gardening Cake

Another cake for me - and that's me on the cake front done for a while - so I can start again having "me" time - not sure how long that will last though....
Make this cake for one of my "bezzies"- Fiona's dad's 70th - tomorrow...Happy Birthday Don!
The cake needed to have him with a lawnmower on his garden with some rabbits on the lawn...he loves his garden - but so do the rabbits!

 

And he also needed his lawnmower on it......
