Well it's Tuesday....made this the other day...supposed to be Treacle Toffee - but I am not a lover of it - prefer Golden Syrup toffee - ummmm - maybe I should have made treacle and then I would not eat it.....next time maybe.....
Got the idea from my blogging buddie Caroline and changed her recipe around..
Firstly get a jam pan - I have 2 - this is the one though with the thickest base....add
8oz Demerara Sugar
8oz Golden Syrup
4oz Butter to a pan with a jam thermometer....I suspend mine from the handle to make things easier....
Add them all to the pan and stir until sugar dissolved...and then when it reaches 140 on the thermometer....hey presto it is ready...honestly soooooooooooooooo simple
Grease a tin with butter - poor in leave to set and then break up and pop in a jar
Promise it tastes yummy - but wash up as soon as you have emptied out the treacle as it is a nightmare to clean your thermometer and pan......so thanks Caroline - next please....this one worked..................
