Sloes

Hope you have picked all of yr Sloes by now...we have had the first frost...always the sign....straight after that...get picking.....went and picked 12 lbs of them......!!!!!! these make the most wonderful Sloe Gin.....soooo nice for a winters evening in front of a roaring fire......though any you make this yr are best kept for a year...ready to drink this time next yr....

 

This is a close up if you have not seen them before....bit like a blueberry but with a whitish tinge...

Each one needs to be lovingly pricked with a cocktail stick and popped into a bottle...fill bottle 3/4 full.....cover with sugar...add Gin - not quiet to the top as each day give the bottle a good shake...who needs Zumba classes?!......when ready...sieve into a new bottle...yummmmmmmmmm....endless....Sloe Gin...Sloe Whiskey...Sloe Vodka...whatever you fancy....
